How to Download Pinterest Images in HD

Pinterest shows a compressed preview in the feed. These three steps get you the full-size original instead.

  1. Copy the pin URL

    Open the image pin and tap Share → Copy link, or copy the address from your browser bar on desktop.

  2. Paste and fetch

    Paste the link above and press Download. GrabVid finds the largest version of the image Pinterest has.

  3. Save the full-size file

    Tap Download Image. You will see the exact pixel size on the button, so you know you are getting the original.

Save Pinterest Images on iPhone

The Pinterest app's own "Download image" option saves a smaller copy. Use Safari and GrabVid for the full-size file.

  1. In the Pinterest app, tap Share → Copy link on the pin.
  2. Open grabvid.online/pinterest-image-downloader in Safari.
  3. Tap Paste and then Download.
  4. Tap Download Image and confirm.
  5. Open Files → Downloads, tap the photo, then Share → Save Image to add it to Photos.

Tip: long-pressing the preview image and choosing "Save to Photos" also works, but the download button gives you the original file name and size.

Save Pinterest Images on Android

Android saves images to your Downloads folder, and most gallery apps pick them up automatically.

  1. Open the pin in the Pinterest app and tap Share → Copy link.
  2. Visit this page in Chrome or Samsung Internet.
  3. Paste the link and tap Download.
  4. Tap Download Image.
  5. Open Google Photos or Gallery and check the Downloads album.

Tip: to use the image as wallpaper, open it in Gallery, tap the three-dot menu and choose "Set as wallpaper".

Save Pinterest Images on PC and Mac

Right-click "Save image as" on Pinterest often gives you a WebP preview. GrabVid gets the real original instead.

  1. Open the pin on pinterest.com and copy the URL.
  2. Open this page in another tab.
  3. Paste with Ctrl + V or Cmd + V and click Download.
  4. Click Download Image.

Why Pinterest Images Look Blurry When You Save Them

When you scroll Pinterest, the app loads small preview versions of each image to keep the feed fast. These previews are usually 236 or 736 pixels wide and are often converted to WebP. If you screenshot a pin or use "Save image as" from the feed, that preview is what you end up with — fine on a phone screen, but blurry when you print it, crop it or use it in a presentation.

Behind each pin, Pinterest also keeps the original file the pinner uploaded. GrabVid looks up the pin and returns that original instead. For recipe cards, infographics, wallpapers, quotes and tattoo or home décor ideas, the difference in sharpness is easy to see.
