Not every pin that moves is a GIF. Pinterest hosts two kinds of animated content. Classic GIF pins are uploaded as .gif files and show a small "GIF" label in the corner. They are usually short reaction loops, stickers, cinemagraphs or animated illustrations. Video pins, on the other hand, are MP4 files with optional sound, and they make up most of the moving content in the feed today.
